After a long midsummer night spent consuming Finnlandia juice and large portions of reindeer meat, the Finnish, German and American members of Kuusimäki had enough strength to record their debut demo in 2002.
Since then, the band have been causing uncontrollable party emotions wherever they turn up. In 2005 they set foot on Finnish holy soil and were seen dragging band equipment through the streets of Helsinki with a snow plow during a World Championship Marathon race, setting off ecstatic reactions from the local population. A couple years later Finnish settlers in Kladow, Germany showed their appreciation for the Kuusimäki force with wildly swung beer tents.

Kuusimäki's target mission is to cover the greatest hits of pop and rock, singing these songs in the musical language of Finnish. Their debut album S.O.S. was released in 2007. In June 2009, the new album Valomerkki comes out. Both albums are released on the Motor Digital label and are available on itunes worldwide.

Nach einer langen Mittsommernacht im Jahr 2002, wo Finnlandiasaft und grössere Mengen Rentierfleisch konsumiert wurden, hatten die finnischen, deutschen und amerikanischen Mitglieder von Kuusimäki genug Kraft, ihr Debutdemo aufzu- nehmen.
Wo auch immer sie seitdem auftauchen, werden durch die Band meist unkontrollierbare Partyemotionen ausgelöst. Im Jahr 2005 setzten sie ihre Füsse erstmals auf heiligen, finnischen Boden und wurden dort, begeistert unterstützt von den Einwohnern Helsinkis, inmitten einem WM-Marathonlauf beim Transportieren ihrer Anlage auf einem Schneepflug gesehen. Ein paar Jahre später kam es dann sogar soweit, dass frühe Finnische Siedler im Brandenburgischen Kladow ihre Begeisterung über Kuusimäki durch kräftig wackelnde Bierzelte zum Ausdruck brachten.

Es ist die Mission von Kuusimäki, die grössten Pop/Rockstücke zu covern, gesungen in der musikalischen Sprache Finnlands. Ihr Debutalbum Album S.O.S wurde 2007 veröffentlicht. Im Juni 2009 erscheint das neue Album Valomerkki. Beide Alben werden von Motor Digital veröffentlicht und sind weltweit erhältlich bei itunes.
